Cancer Partners of Nebraska is pleased to announce Peter Morris, MD has joined their growing team of cancer specialists. Dr. Morris will be Lincoln’s first gynecologic oncology surgeon and will be adding a much-needed service (gynecologic oncology) to the greater Lincoln area.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate expected side effects from chemoradiation (CRT) as an important factor in treatment decisions in older adults with rectal and anal cancers. The objective was to compare side effects of older and younger adults with rectal and anal cancers treated on NRG Oncology studies. The results of this study showed older patients with these cancers undergoing CRT were less likely to complete chemotherapy and had worse side effects. Physicians can now use these results to counsel older adults prior to treatment and manage expected side effects throughout pelvic CRT.

One of our patients recently shared his story with Journeys magazine about receiving advanced cancer treatment at Cancer Partners. He is now recovering at home from a rare brain cancer, thanks to radiation therapy and chemotherapy received right here in Lincoln.
